Alibaba’s AI glasses come in two models: the S1, priced at $536, and the G1, at $286
Chinese wholesaler Alibaba launched its AI-powered Quark smart glasses yesterday, intensifying competition with Meta in the AI wearables market.
The AI glasses come in two models: the S1, priced at $536, and the G1, at $286. Both models integrate Alibaba’s Qwen AI chatbot, enabling voice-controlled tasks.
The launch follows strong momentum for Alibaba’s AI initiatives. Its Qwen app recorded 10 million downloads in its first week, while cloud revenue linked to AI grew rapidly last quarter.
Analysts note that smart glasses remain a small but growing market, currently dominated by Meta, which launched its $799 Ray-Ban Display glasses in September.
Apart from Meta, Alibaba also has to compete with Xiaomi and Xreal, which sell AI glasses in China.
Shipments of AI glasses are forecast to surpass 10 million units in 2026, double 2025 levels.
