Apple is preparing a major upgrade to Siri, turning it into its first true AI chatbot, code-named Campos.

The tech giant plans to launch Campos at its Worldwide Developers Conference in June, with a public release later this year.

The new assistant will be built into iPhones, iPads, and Macs, replacing the current Siri interface while keeping the familiar activation methods. Campos will support both voice and text commands, offering web searches, content creation, and file analysis.

The chatbot will use a custom AI model from Google’s Gemini team, surpassing the upcoming iOS 26.4 Siri update, which runs on Apple Foundation Models version 10.

Privacy limits are being discussed to restrict how much the chatbot remembers about users.
