A former Pikesville High School’s Athletic Director, Dazhon Darien, was arrested Thursday morning for using artificial intelligence (AI) to create a fake recording to mimic the school’s principal and falsely portray him as racist and antisemitic.
The 42-second recording was widely circulated online in January, targeting Black students and the Jewish community. The clip sparked widespread outrage and led to Principal Eric Eiswert’s suspension.
The Baltimore police revealed that Darien used OpenAI tools that he accessed from the school last year.
Darien was subsequently arrested with a gun while attempting to board a flight to Houston. He faces charges including theft, stalking and disrupting school operations.
