Boeing’s internal review uncovered that CEO David Calhoun and three other top executives had taken personal trips valued at over $500,000 using the company’s private jets.

The company acknowledged in a securities filing that the trips were improperly recorded as business travel instead of personal benefits, per the SEC rules.

Since 2021, these travels have cost the company around $1.9 million. CEO Calhoun’s air travel alone amounted to $979,000 over three years.

The disclosure comes at a time of increased federal and public scrutiny against Boeing due to several safety incidents in its planes, including a fuselage blowout in January.
