Disney CEO Bob Iger officially concluded his storied 52-year career at Disney on Wednesday, handing the reins to the company’s new head, Josh D’Amaro.

During Disney’s Annual Shareholder meeting, Iger reflected on his tenure, particularly his surprise 2022 return to stabilize the company following the brief and turbulent leadership of Bob Chapek.

He noted that while employee confidence was shaken when he returned, he now senses a renewed excitement among staff about what lies ahead. One of his main achievements was turning Disney+ into a profitable streaming service.

Iger will remain as a special adviser and board member until the end of 2026.

D’Amaro was picked in February and has been with the company since 1998.
