Netflix is cracking down on password sharing in the US and started sending out emails yesterday to customers who are sharing their accounts outside their households.

So if you are sharing your password and have a standard account, you can add one more member outside of your household for an additional $7.99 a month. Premium account holders can add two extra members, but they will need to pay $7.99 a month per member.

The cheapest two plans don’t allow adding extra members to the account.

After losing subscribers for the first time in more than 10 years in April 2022, the streaming platform said more than 100 million households were piggybacking on someone else’s account.
