Entertainment giant Disney announced on Tuesday that it has picked company veteran Josh D’Amaro as CEO, effective March 18, succeeding Bob Iger.

D’Amaro has been with Disney since 1998 and currently leads its experiences division, which includes parks and products.

Dana Walden, who oversees Disney’s television and streaming operations, will take on the role of president and chief creative officer. Current CEO Iger will serve as a senior advisor to the board until his retirement on December 31.

The top appointments come at a time when Disney and other legacy studios are witnessing declining viewership of traditional media, such as broadcast television.

Additionally, the companies are also navigating the rise of generative AI, labor union protests, and regulatory scrutiny from the Trump administration.
