The 206-page EU document reportedly outlines duties on US-made alcohols, toys, sports guns, and more
The European Union has finalized a $84 billion list of potential tariffs on US goods, including Boeing aircraft, cars, alcohol, and agricultural products, in case trade talks with Washington collapse.
According to Bloomberg, the 206-page EU document also outlines duties on bourbon, wine, fruits, vegetables, toys, machinery, sports guns, musical instruments, and more. The proposal still requires approval from European nations for adoption.
The move responds to President Donald Trump’s earlier 20% reciprocal tariff—later reduced to 10%—and his recent threat to raise EU tariffs to 30% by August 1.
EU Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic slammed Trump’s threats as “effectively prohibitive” to transatlantic trade. He was set to meet with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick late Monday.
Meanwhile, as the negotiations continue, the EU extended a suspension of earlier tariffs on nearly $23 billion worth of US goods over the weekend.
