Warren Buffet named Greg Abel as his successor

Berkshire Hathaway shareholder meeting in Omaha had a lot going on. From reflecting on his mortality to his concerns over the implications of artificial intelligence, Warren Buffett shared a lot.

After the billionaire investor lost Charlie Munger, his longtime business partner, Buffett said, “I not only hope you come next year. I hope I come next year.” The CEO even named Greg Abel as his successor.

The 93-year-old also shared his thoughts on AI, which he compared to a “nuclear weapon.”

Buffett is worried that if used incorrectly, the tech could have devastating consequences.

Buffet also predicted that AI could give rise to more effective scams and said, “If I was interested in investing in scamming, it’s going to be the growth industry of all time.”
