As California clears the ruins and destruction caused by the devastating storms since Christmas, forecasters predict even heavier rain next week that will bring torrential downpours and gale force winds in the north.

Monday’s atmospheric river poured a month’s worth of rain in just a day and had 90% of the population under flood watch.

A strange phenomenon
What California is witnessing is strange as the state is under drought and flood emergencies at the same time—yes, even after receiving 20 trillion gallons of water up until the middle of January—all due to climate change.

According to experts, this downpour is still not enough to reverse the drought condition.
