Late-winter storms in California left overwhelming amounts of rain and snow, and forecasters believe the state will potentially be drought free for the first time since 2020.

California was hit with back-to-back storms this year. The 11th atmospheric river that cleared this Wednesday left southern parts with flooded roadways, uprooted trees and landslides. Northern California had the snowiest season in more than 30 years.

Experts predict water restrictions for nearly 7 million people could end due to the abundant rain.
