Thank El Nino because this year’s Atlantic hurricane season will have the normal number of storms and hurricanes, according to a forecast by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released Thursday.

The weather phenomenon El Nino slows down storms.

NOAA estimates 12 to 17 named storms of which potentially four may become major hurricanes.
