The National Weather Service predicts the country will witness record high and low temperatures and a huge winter storm|via NWS

As a massive winter storm “will plague a large portion of the country”, temperatures are expected to reach record high and low levels, per the National Weather Service.

In the coming days, the US could witness several feet of snow at higher elevations, blizzard conditions, strong winds, sleet and freezing rain and severe thunderstorm.

The storm is expected to move to California and the Great Basin Tuesday.

“The coldest storm of the season, and possibly of the last several years is expected to impact southwest (California) Wed-Fri or Sat with showers across coasts and valleys with mainly snow across the mountains and deserts,” the NWS in Los Angeles tweeted Sunday.
