New England would experience “once in a generation” wind chills starting tonight till Sunday, with temperatures expected to drop below -50°F.

Windchill and frostbite warnings
Over 15 million people are under wind chill warnings in the Northeast. The National Weather Service (NWS) warned civilians to layer up, indicating the -50 to -60°F wind chills will cause frostbite on bare skin within 10 minutes.

Boston, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island are under cold warnings. 

The NWS alerted of wind gusts up to 50 mph Friday across New England that might cause power outages.
