Northwestern University will pay the Department of the Treasury $75 million over three years to restore its federal funding.
The agreement with the Trump administration ends a seven-month dispute over hundreds of millions in frozen aid.
Earlier this month, Cornell University reached a similar agreement with the administration to gain access to funds frozen due to alleged civil rights violations on campus.
Northwestern emphasized that the settlement contains no admission of wrongdoing and does not surrender control over hiring, admissions, curriculum, or teaching.
