Adult sleep-away camps surge in popularity

Sleep-away camps are now attracting adults in their 20s through 60s who seek deeper friendships and a break from daily routines.

Unlike typical vacations or retreats, adult sleep-away camps emphasize connection, fun, and rediscovering play.

Camp Social, founded in 2023, has quickly grown, hosting 400 women per session in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains. Around 92% of attendees are arriving solo.

At $883.51 for a three-day stay, the camp blends classic activities like boating, ropes courses, and tie-dye with adult twists such as paint-and-sip and mixology classes.

Adult-focused camp industry is expanding
Camp No Counselors, with sites in Pennsylvania and California, is adding a Texas location.

‘Camp’ Camp in Maine caters to LGBTQ adults and boasts a 75% return rate, with 40% attending for more than five years.

Customers describe the experience as “camp magic,” where structured activities and bunk living foster quick bonds that often turn into lasting friendships.
