Disney CEO Bob Chapek wants to tell you “more customized, and more personalized” stories by uniting the entertainment giant’s two major businesses—its thriving theme park operations with its streaming service.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Chapek says he aims to combine the two separate arms using the Disney+ app to enhance the customers' experience with the entertainment giant.

Chapek said, “If you’re on Disney+, we should be aware, assuming you give us the permission to have that awareness, of what happened, what you experienced, what you liked the last time you visited a park. And, vice versa, when you’re in a park, we should know what your viewing habits are on Disney+.”

If a person visits a Guardians of the Galaxy ride, for example, they would later find the franchise titles as suggestions in the Disney+ app. This would help the company give better suggestions to its visitors based on the theme park rides they take rather than relying on their past viewing history.

“What we’re trying to do is build a toolbox of utilities that then can be used by our creators at Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucas who then take those utilities and use them to tell stories in a more customized and personalized way according to your interests,” says Chapek.
