Netflix now has over 325 million paid users

Netflix reported strong fourth-quarter results on Tuesday, even as its stock slipped. The company posted $12.05 billion in revenue, up nearly 18% from last year, and $2.42 billion in net income, a 29% increase.

Growth came from more subscribers, higher prices, and rising ad revenue. Netflix now has over 325 million paid users.

Popular shows that boosted viewership during the quarter include the final season of Stranger Things, the ninth season of Selling Sunset, and the movie Frankenstein.

The earnings came as Netflix confirmed its $72 billion deal to buy Warner Bros. Discovery’s studios and HBO Max. The streaming giant said the purchase will strengthen its content lineup and long-term growth.

Netflix expects 2026 revenue of up to $51.7 billion and plans to pause share buybacks to fund the deal. Its shares fell about 5% after hours.

Netflix also said it changed its $82.7 billion offer for Warner Bros. Discovery’s film and streaming assets from 84% cash to all-cash to reassure shareholders.
