Commercial developers want to get a casino to Times Square as legislators approved three new casino licenses in the NYC area this year.

According to The New York Times, SL Green Realty Corporation and Caesars Entertainment, along with other restaurants and retailers, are trying to form a coalition to secure a license.

But the plan has many hurdles—competing bids for casinos in nearby areas and the Broadway League, who vehemently opposes a casino in the neighborhood.

Critics also point out the logistical nightmare of having a casino in one of the world’s busiest and most crowded areas would be.
