The Environmental Protection Agency set new emission rules yesterday for heavy-duty vehicles like freight trucks, buses and vans to limit the amount of pollution allowed from large vehicles.

The new regulation will apply to vehicles beginning in the 2027 model year through 2032. Over the next three decades, the rules are expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the US by 1 billion metric tons.
