Campbell’s Co., has placed its senior executive, Martin Bally, on leave after a lawsuit alleged he said their products were “highly process(ed) food” for “poor people.”
The suit, filed by former cybersecurity analyst Robert Garza, claims Bally called his Indian coworkers “idiots.”
In a recording provided to The Washington Post, Bally is heard referring to Campbell’s products, saying, “I don’t want to eat a … piece of chicken that came from a 3D printer.”
Garza says he was fired in January after reporting the remarks to his supervisor, which he argues was retaliation.
Campbell’s denies the product claims, stating its soups use “100% real chicken.” The New Jersey-based company has begun an internal investigation.
