Popular food-ordering app DoorDash introduced a new in-app alert this week, cautioning customers that not tipping may lead to delayed deliveries.
The app’s latest alert highlights the importance of tips, emphasizing that drivers known as “Dashers” can choose their orders.
According to DoorDash spokeswoman Jenn Rosenberg, the company has been testing this alert for select users. She also disclosed that drivers can view customer tips, underscoring their influence on desirability.
The company pays drivers $2 to $10 per delivery, along with 100% of the tips.
