Fast food chain McDonald’s reintroduced its four-patty Double Big Mac burger yesterday, after four years, joining recent indulgent releases like Subway’s trio of footlong snacks and Costco’s giant 750-calorie cookie.

The addition to McDonald’s burger, which will be available for a limited time, comes at a time of heightened awareness about health and the popularity of weight-loss drugs like Ozempic in the country.

Some injectable weight management treatments, like GLP-1 agonists, suppress cravings for high-fat and sugary foods, potentially impacting fast-food chains.

Dietitians suggest moderation when consuming high-fat and protein foods, emphasizing the 80/20 rule to balance between healthy meals and occasional treats.

CosMc’s, McDonald’s trendy takeaway drink chain concept aimed to rival Starbucks, is reportedly attracting young adults aged 22 to 29 more rapidly than traditional McDonald’s locations.

In December, the first CosMc’s opened in Illinois, and it saw double the number of visits compared to an average McDonald’s chainwide in the same month.
