California federal court on Wednesday sentenced Theranos ex-COO and Elizabeth Holmes ex-boyfriend, Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani, to nearly 13 years in prison for fraud.

Balwani was responsible for the laboratory management and finances at Theranos. During his time as COO, the company provided false reports and documents for test results.

The ruling comes three weeks after founder Elizabeth Holmes was awarded a prison sentence of over 11 years for defrauding investors and misleading them with false claims about the blood testing startup’s technology.
