The Supreme Court on Friday cleared the way, for now, for President Donald Trump’s $400 million White House ballroom project to proceed, putting a lower court’s construction halt on hold.

The ruling is a significant win for the Trump administration. However, the brief order issued by Chief Justice John Roberts isn’t a final decision.

It allows ballroom construction, which was already underway following the demolition of the East Wing.

The court did not weigh in on whether the project is lawful and did not set a date for further action.
