At his UN General Assembly speech on Wednesday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian accused the US and Israel of stoking global instability.
His address came a day after President Donald Trump threatened to “annihilate” Iran. Pezeshkian asserted his nation will fight “until our last breath.”
Pezeshkian used his UN General Assembly address to signal Iran’s willingness to pursue further talks to end the conflict, while rejecting what he described as coercive demands. “We are ready for dialogue and diplomacy and negotiations without accepting the language of force,” he said.
He also said Iran would not abandon its nuclear program or “bow” to pressure over its right to peaceful nuclear technology.
Meanwhile, President Trump said that the US had a three-hour side meeting with Iranian envoys.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei confirmed the meeting and said Iran demands the US cease acts of “economic terrorism” in the Middle East.
