Seeing a surge in COVID-19 cases, starting Monday, each household will be able to order up to four free tests at COVIDtests.gov, the Department of Health and Human Services announced yesterday.
The Biden administration is restarting the program that allowed free at-home tests for the virus. It has allocated $600 million in funding to 12 American manufacturers to produce 200 million over-the-counter COVID-19 tests, designed to detect prevalent variants. The move aims to prevent possible shortages during colder months.
