The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Tuesday authorized selected vape flavors from a Los Angeles manufacturer, Glas, highlighting safeguards to limit underage use.

The agency cleared mango, blueberry, and menthol variants, expanding beyond its earlier limit to tobacco and menthol-only products.

The move follows reports that President Donald Trump pushed the FDA to speed up approvals of flavored vaping products, expressing frustration with Commissioner Marty Makary in recent White House meetings.

Makary had earlier blocked menthol, mango, and blueberry vape products from an LA manufacturer, citing risks of youth appeal and the need for stronger public health safeguards.

Advisers warned that delays could hurt support among younger voters, a key political group.

Officials said teen vaping has fallen to a 10-year low, even as unauthorized flavored products remain widely used.

Smoking still causes about 480,000 US deaths annually, and companies argue vaping can help adults quit or cut back.
