The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) panel voted 14-1 to revoke their approval of Makena, a drug that prevents premature birth, saying it didn’t provide any clinical benefit.

The panel concluded that Makena had no medical benefits and also caused side effects like blood clots and depression. The drug was approved in 2011 by the FDA’s accelerated approval program.
