Nike is under federal investigation over claims that it may have discriminated against white employees in its workplace and diversity policies.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), which enforces anti-discrimination laws, filed a lawsuit in federal court in Missouri to compel the sportswear giant to share its hiring and personnel records.

The agency says Title VII protects workers of all races and requires equal treatment.

The move reflects a shift in priorities under President Donald Trump, with the EEOC placing greater focus on complaints from white men. Officials say this is one of the first major cases under that approach.

Nike said it has cooperated fully and already shared thousands of documents. The company called the legal step surprising.

The probe comes as many companies review diversity programs, and as Nike still faces criticism over past workplace culture and harassment complaints.
