The Strategic Organizing Center is seeking representation on the Starbucks board

The Strategic Organizing Center (SOC), a coalition of North American labor unions, is pressing for representation on the Starbucks board, intensifying the struggle over pay and working conditions.

The group has named Maria Echaveste, Joshua Gotbaum and Wilma Liebman as their nominees.

The showdown will take place at the Starbucks annual meeting on March 13 next year, where shareholders will cast their votes.

Meanwhile
Starbucks remains firm on its commitment, investing $3 billion annually to increase wages, technological advancements and employee training. It says employee hourly wages have gone up nearly 50% since 2020.

Last week, thousands of employees went on strike over staffing and promotion scheduling issues.
