Jury selection in the high-profile trial of hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs will begin on Monday in New York. He was arrested last September and faces federal charges that include sex trafficking, racketeering, kidnapping and bribery.
Diddy’s trial is expected to last at least eight weeks, and opening statements are scheduled to begin May 12. His former partner, R&B singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, could be a key witness. She sued him for decade-long rape and physical abuse in 2023 and settled the very next day.
CNN later aired hotel surveillance footage showing Diddy assaulting Ventura. The judge overseeing the case ruled it is admissible in court.
The 55-year-old rapper pleaded not guilty to all charges and says his relationships and sexual acts were consensual. If found guilty, he faces years in prison.
