Egg prices are seeing a steady decline as the poultry industry recovers from one of the worst bird flu outbreaks in US history.

The cost of the Midwest large eggs, the benchmark for commodity price, closed at $2.16 per dozen, a significant 37% decrease since late July.

Following the avian influenza outbreak—which killed over 30 million birds—farmers are now repopulating hens to fend off the supply shortage that heavily affected the market.
