Parent company Alphabet reported that YouTube’s total revenue reached $60 billion in 2025
YouTube generated $40.4 billion in advertising revenue in 2025, surpassing the combined $37.8 billion in ad revenue from Disney, NBC, Paramount, and Warner Bros.
In contrast, YouTube earned $36.1 billion in ad revenue in 2024, while the studios generated a combined $41.8 billion, keeping traditional media ahead at the time. The video platform has overtaken them as television audiences declined and studio production costs continued to rise.
Parent company Alphabet reported that YouTube’s total revenue reached $60 billion in 2025.
Subscription services such as YouTube TV, YouTube Premium, YouTube Music, and the NFL Sunday Ticket package also contributed to the platform’s growth.
However, YouTube still trails Meta Platforms, which reported $196.2 billion in ads last year.
Advertisers increasingly favor YouTube because younger audiences spend more time on the platform.
Additionally, YouTube said it will expand access to its artificial intelligence detection tool to help protect public figures from AI impersonation. It will allow a pilot group of politicians and journalists to use the feature.
YouTube said the expansion will help safeguard identities online while still protecting free expression, including parody and satire.
