The legendary singer, songwriter and guitarist David Crosby passed away Wednesday after a long ailment. He was 81.

Crosby was the original member of the Byrds and founder of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. The son of Oscar-winning cinematographer Floyd Crosby, David made it into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice.

His hit contributions include Almost Cut My Hair, Deja Vu, and the 1965 hit cover of Bob Dylan’s Mr. Tambourine Man. The loss of David Crosby has left the industry in immense grief.
