Spotify turns 20, celebrates with music history feature

Music streaming app Spotify amped up nostalgia to celebrate its 20th anniversary by releasing a new in-app experience that gives users a comprehensive view of their entire listening history.

Called “Spotify 20: Your Party of the Year(s),” the Wrapped-like summary dives much deeper into personal archives.

It shows data from the first day they joined the platform, their most-streamed artist, and the total number of unique songs they have played since creating an account.

Spotify is generating an All-Time Top Songs Playlist for each user, featuring their top 120 tracks and specific play counts for each song.

To encourage social media sharing, the platform includes a custom stat card that lets users post their historical data. So we might see that a lot on our feeds, like “listening age,” which was a hit in the 2025 Wrapped.
