News networks urge Biden, Trump to participate in debates

Five major broadcast and cable news organizations—ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News and NBC—collectively drafted an open letter urging President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump to engage in televised debates ahead of Election Day.

Published on Sunday, the letter emphasizes the importance of debates’ vital role in informing voters about each presidential candidate’s vision for the nation.

While Biden’s camp remains cautious, citing concerns over the enforcement of debate rules, Trump has pledged to participate, even though he skipped some in 2020.

Last year, the former president also skipped the Republican debates.
