Florida Governor Ron Desantis will announce his presidential run today at 6 PM ET on Twitter Spaces while chatting with the platform’s CEO Elon Musk.
At an event by The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday, Musk said he will be interviewing Ron DeSantis who has “quite an announcement to make” and that it is the “first time something like this is happening on social media.”

Last year, Musk mentioned he would support DeSantis’ run for president. It could be a significant boost considering Musk is a billionaire and has 140 million Twitter followers.
Musk is garnering growing support from Republicans since positioning himself as a free-speech absolutist. Former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson recently expressed interest in bringing his show to Twitter.
