New York’s Radio City Music Hall transformed into a political arena yesterday as President Joe Biden’s election campaign hosted a high-profile fundraiser, accompanied by former Democratic presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.

The campaign confirmed the event saw more than 5,000 people in attendance and raised more than $25 million in one night.

It was a star-studded evening
First Lady Jill Biden kicked off the program, while actor-comedian Mindy Kaling emceed performances by Queen Latifah, Lizzo and Ben Platt.

Late-night host Stephen Colbert moderated a conversation between the three presidents.

The Biden campaign claims it was “the most successful political fundraiser in American history.”

However, the event was interrupted several times by pro-Palestine protestors. Hundreds of them also gathered outside the venue, criticizing Biden’s handling of the Gaza war.

In comparison, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump raised less than $20 million in February for his campaign. With Thursday’s sold-out Biden fundraiser, the financial disparities between both party campaigns continue to grow.

According to Axios, Biden’s campaign and the DNC ended last month with 97.5 million cash on hand, while Trump’s campaign and the RNC’s stood at $44.8 million.

Trump was also in New York the same day, attending the wake of a NY police officer who was shot and killed at a Queens traffic stop.
