Nearly 500 TSA workers have quit, while others struggle to cover basic living costs

House Republicans voted Friday to keep the Homeland Security shutdown going.

They turned down a Senate deal to fund most agencies through September and are moving ahead with their own plan.

Since senators have already left for a two-week break until April 13, House Republican leaders said they won’t vote on the bill the Senate passed early yesterday, which would have funded most agencies through September.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump signed an order to ensure TSA workers receive pay during the shutdown to avoid major airport disruptions.

Staffing issues are worsening. After more than a month without regular pay, many TSA workers are calling out sick.
