Amazon launched 24 Kuiper internet satellites aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket early Wednesday from Florida. It is a rare collaboration between the companies of Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.

The satellites aim to help Amazon meet a tight FCC deadline requiring 1,600 satellites in orbit by July 2026. It has launched 54 Kuiper satellites so far and will hit 78 if this mission succeeds.

The tech giant plans a $10 billion–$23 billion investment in Project Kuiper, which would provide broadband internet through its constellation of satellites. It has booked 83 launches, including three with SpaceX.

Analysts estimate Amazon spends $150 million per launch in the internet satellite market, which is expected to grow to $40 billion by 2030.

If Kuiper captures 30% market share, it could earn $7.1 billion by 2032.
