Bryson DeChambeau, the golfer famously nicknamed “The Scientist,” is bringing an unorthodox strategy to the Masters Tournament this week: 3D printed 5-iron clubs.
The 32-year-old is a two-time US Open champion but hasn’t won the Masters yet. He finished fifth in 2025. To improve his performance, he has designed and 3D-printed clubs to use this year.
DeChambeau has a history of disrupting golf norms. He famously uses single-length irons and wedges and was the first professional to utilize graphite shafts across all 14 clubs in his bag.
His other technical experimentations include testing custom wedges in South Africa and ongoing work on building his own irons and drivers.
