In a historic milestone, LeBron James became the first NBA player ever to score 40,000 points. The achievement came during Saturday’s match against the Denver Nuggets.

Despite James scoring 26 points in the game, the Lakers lost 124-114, leaving them in 10th place in the Western Conference standings.

Last season, James surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the highest scorer in NBA history. 

The 39-year-old, with four MVP titles and NBA Finals MVP awards, also holds records for most playoff points (8,023) and All-Star appearances (20).

College basketball star Caitlin Clark of Iowa secured the NCAA’s top scorer crown in a match against Ohio State, surpassing Pete Maravich’s 1970 record. Clark scored her 3,5586th point with a free-throw, taking her per game average this season to 32.2 points.

Even President Joe Biden congratulated Clark, who plans to enter the WNBA draft after this season.
