South Carolina clinched a historic victory over Iowa, claiming their third NCAA women’s basketball championship since 2017 and completing a perfect 38-0 season, making Gamecocks the 10th women’s team to win a title without a loss.

Led by Tessa Johnson, South Carolina scored an 87-75 win over Caitlin Clark’s squad.

Johnson contributed 19 points, while Kamilla Cardoso added 15 points and 17 rebounds.

Despite a valiant effort from Iowa, led by the prolific Clark—who leaves Iowa City for the WNBA as the all-time leading scorer of the NCAA—the Hawkeyes fell short for the second consecutive year in the championship game.
