The tech giant has launched two new AI-powered wearables as it expands into the growing smart-device market. Amazon’s new products are built on Bee, an AI startup the company acquired last year.

The company introduced the $75 Bee Frontier, a smaller, lighter, and water-resistant version of its original wristband. The device records and transcribes daily activities, summarizes conversations, and creates to-do lists through a companion app.

It comes in lavender, sage, and onyx, offers seven days of battery life, and is available to order in the US.

Amazon also unveiled the Bee Eclipse, a magnetic, card-shaped recorder that attaches to the back of a smartphone. Starting at $100, the device comes in four colors and promises more than 21 days of battery life. Amazon has not announced its release date.

The company is also introducing a $12 monthly Bee Pro subscription. The paid plan offers unlimited conversation summaries, integrations with services such as Gmail, Google Calendar, and Alexa+, and a desktop app for summarizing online meetings.

Free users can access summaries only from the previous 14 days, while new customers get a 30-day Pro trial.

Amazon said users will be asked to obtain consent before recording, though nearby people may overlook the devices’ on/off indicator lights. Transcripts will be private by default and accessible to others only if users share them, the company said.

The tech giant also added that it deletes recordings after generating summaries and insights. The launch highlights growing competition among technology companies developing AI-powered gadgets for everyday use.
