Apple says the 3D-knit design aims to create an extra pocket for small daily items
Apple has introduced the iPhone Pocket, a knitted accessory designed to carry any iPhone model, drawing mixed reactions for its unusual concept and high price.
The crossbody version costs $229.95 and comes in muted colors like blue, brown, and black. A shorter version, priced at $149.95, is available in eight colors.
Apple says the 3D-knit design takes inspiration from a simple piece of cloth and aims to create an extra pocket for small daily items. Critics have compared the product to Apple’s earlier iPod Socks, which Steve Jobs famously joked about in 2004.
The product is part of a limited-edition collaboration with Japanese designer Issey Miyake and goes on sale online and in select global Apple Stores starting November 14th.
The label Issey Miyake also made Steve Jobs turtlenecks.
