Google won’t have to sell its Chrome browser, Judge Amit Mehta ruled yesterday while handing a rare victory to the company in its clash with antitrust regulators.

But it will be barred from signing exclusive deals that make its search engine the only option on devices or browsers. The judge also ruled that the tech giant must disclose the data it relies on to determine which search results to display.

The decision preserves Google’s $20 billion-a-year deal with Apple, boosting both companies’ stocks.

Analysts said the ruling clears the way for deeper AI partnerships between the two tech giants.

Google said it would appeal the decision.
