AMD has landed a deal valued at more than $100 billion with Meta in a bold bid to narrow the gap with Nvidia.

As reported by The Wall Street Journal, Meta agreed to purchase 6 gigawatts of AI data center processors from AMD and secured the option to acquire up to 10% of AMD’s shares.

The massive agreement follows a comparable arrangement AMD reached with OpenAI last year, underscoring its push to compete more aggressively with Nvidia. At the same time, Meta is hedging its bets, continuing to source chips from both companies and recently announcing plans to buy millions of Nvidia units to power its growing AI infrastructure.
