One Battle After Another ruled the BAFTAs on Sunday, winning six awards, including best film and best director for Paul Thomas Anderson.

Sinners became the most-decorated movie from a Black director in the show’s history. Its wins included Best Supporting Actress for Wunmi Mosaku, Best Original Score for Ludwig Goransson, and Best Original Screenplay for Ryan Coogler, making him the first Black winner in that category.

The biggest surprise of the night came when Robert Aramayo won best actor for I Swear, beating big names.

Chloe Zhao’s Hamnet won outstanding British film, and Jessie Buckley won best actress.
