Meta has hired four more researchers from OpenAI, continuing its streak of aggressive talent acquisition, according to The Information.

Researchers Shengjia Zhao, Jiahui Yu, Shuchao Bi, and Hongyu Ren are the latest additions to Meta’s AI team.

The move follows Meta’s earlier hiring of Lucas Beyer, Alexander Kolesnikov, and Xiaohua Zhai from OpenAI’s Zurich office.

The hiring spree comes months after Meta launched its Llama 4 AI models, which reportedly fell short of CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s expectations.

Tensions between the companies escalated as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman accused Meta of offering $100 million signing bonuses, while Meta’s chief technology officer (CTO) claimed the offers were more nuanced.
